Anonymous asked:

Hello fellow art child! (Person, whatever) I was wondering if you could give me a few pointers on exposure, and putting myself out there. I wanna start to sell my art, but how do I make it sound like an offer rather than begging? If you have time.

I’m really not that popular, but I can share what I’ve learned I guess! If this lands you half naked in a Denny’s dumpster I’m not responsible.

Followers are amazing, they are the best peeps to have around.

Though I think a lot of them are dead????? Some might just be bots and porn blogs.

as for not begging, as long as you don’t actually beg I doubt anyone will see it that way. Make up your prices, try to factor in how long it takes you to draw it, don’t work for below minimum wage ;) (drawing nsfw and Furries tend to get a lot of people i hear)

I try to be happy and funny when open to commissions, but it doesn’t hurt to say you need money, or that you are saving for something.
I have a store (look i’m doing it now, shameless ;) )) and having visuals and links always helps. Having deals also helps. Sometimes offering up limited slots can get people buying too.

Mostly just be nice, take it slow and don’t do everything at once cause it will be very confusing.

I wish you luck!

but not too much luck, cause I need some of that. I’m a starving artist you know, totally hopeless, so you know you came to the right person. Don’t be afraid to ask questions ;)
